Technical Skills Basics and Beyond
Skilled professionals at CPCC -- whether faculty or contracted subject matter experts -- offer custom training in many technical fields, including machining, industrial maintenance, welding, and electrical/electronics. Courses and workshops are results-driven to suit your needs in course content and skill level from basic to advanced. Once we determine course objectives and length, we work deliver training around your production demands. Training may be held on-site or a one or many campuses.
In addition to customized training, CPCC also offers the newly introduced NC Manufacturing Certification Program (MCP). The modular, competency-based program is intended to achieve a more skilled manufacturing workforce across the state. Based on industry skill standards and employer feedback, the Level I Fundamentals Certificate requires about 90 hours of instruction (4 Core modules and two electives), plus testing. Excellent start for those new to manufacturing or as a requirement for Pay for Skill incentives. Completion of the Level I program prepares trainees to move into Level II industry specific programs, including Textiles, Metals, and Plastics.
