CPCC is proud to be the first community college in North Carolina to offer the American Institute of Banking (AIB) Certified Bank Teller program.  With six months full time work experience and completion of CBT curriculum, students can sit for the national Certified Bank Teller Exam. The CBT Certification is a respected and widely accepted credential. It proves to prospective and current employers that your expertise is confirmed by a recognized organization in the Financial Services Industry.  

Students can complete their course work in an accelerated two week program, or in less than one semester, if they enroll in evening classes. 

Either way, the schedule is designed to help you earn your credentials quickly and open doors to employment. The demand for tellers is so great that we provide interview and scholarship opportunities for students enrolled in the program.

Individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Bank Teller should take the 82 hour course, CBX 8020,  which consists of the following modules:

Regulatory Compliance for Bank Tellers  (3 hours)

Business Etiquette (4 hours)

Revitalizing Customer Services  (8 hours) 

Dealing Effectively with Co-workers  (8 hours)

Ethical Issues for Bankers  (4 hours)

Introduction to Relationship Selling (8.5 hours) 

Effective Referrals (4 hours)

Banking Today  (6 hours)
