Lean improvement efforts enable organizations to make dramatic reductions in waste and non-value-added activities to become highly effective, competitive, and profitable operations. The basic concept of Lean is to “do more with less.” Many companies on the path to Lean have achieved 50% or greater improvements in cycle time, inventory, product development time, labor hours, defects, space requirements, and more.

Lean, based on the Toyota Production System, includes techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Visual Systems, Standardized Work, Quick Changeovers, Mistake-Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance, and Kaizen continuous improvement. In addition to these and other Lean techniques, the CPCC Lean Enterprise Certification course provides practitioner training in the supporting skills of Basic Quality Tools, Root Cause Analysis, Facilitation, Brainstorming and Prioritizing, Project management, Change Management, and Leadership.

The program utilizes participative classroom lecture, hands-on simulation, small team exercises, on-line training materials, implementation planning discussion, and conclusive review and examination. The CPCC certification course builds Lean change agent expertise than can be applied in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprises.

The course is broken into a series of modules spread over 10 half-day sessions. Each module teaches participants practical methods they can begin to apply in the workplace to see immediate results. Course instructors leverage their extensive real-world experiences to offer constructive advice as participants pursue the path toward Lean.
