MFR 7000

Experience, first hand, the power of Lean Manufacturing in this interactive 8-hour course, including faculty simulation developed by the NCSU Industrial Extension Service.  Learn, then apply, principles and practices immediately put to use in your organization to reduce waste and remove non-value-added activities.  Using the factory simulation, you will work with others in a fixed-time period to assemble a tube product.

Program highlights will help you understand:

  • The eight (8) wastes in production
  • How to calculate and apply time
  • How to develop standard procedures
  • How to balance the line

This course is particularly relevant to front-line supervisors, hourly production employees, and work teams.

Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) is building a series of one-day courses focusing on process improvement, of which this is one (as well as Lean Office, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping).

There are no pre-requisites to taking this series.  Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate and be awarded .8 CEUs (continuing education units).
