Human Resources Certificate Program

by Brendan McKennedy last modified 11/06/2009
6063525Whether you are considering entering the Human Resources field, or perhaps needing a refresher in the various HR functions, then this program is for you!  By design, the Human Resources Certificate Program, offered through Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE),  is comprised of five (5) courses (shown below) determined to be essential topics for entry into the HR field.  After successfully completing each course, participants will receive a certificate.  Once all five (5) courses have been successfully completed, participants will receive an overall certificate for the Human Resources Certificate Program.

If you are new to the field, attending these courses will help you become more marketable in obtaining an entry level position by gaining the necessary understanding of each functional area and showing your prospective employer that you are committed to this career. If you are already an HR professional, these will build on your existing skills and increase your knowledge base.  This program is also applicable for an HR professional going from a specialist to a generalist role.

There are no pre-requisites to taking this series.  *It is recommended that participants attend the Fundamentals of Human Resources Management course first (BUX 8006), as this sets the foundation for the remaining four courses.  Participants may take the remaining courses in any order.  Since these courses are offered every semester due to their popularity, participants may complete all five courses in one semester or they may stretch the courses out over more than one semester.

Each 15-hour course meets five times over a three-week period from 6-9pm (either Monday & Wednesday nights or Tuesday & Thursday nights) at one of our multi-campus locations.  Each course costs $195 and includes materials.  There is an additional $4 CAPS fee per course (for all CCE courses).  Participants will receive 1.5 CEUs (continuing education units) for each course successfully completed.  Once they successfully complete the program, they will be awarded 7.5 CEUs.
