New and Expanding Industry Training

The New and Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) program is a nationally recognized statewide program designed to support the training needs of newly hired employees in production and front-line management. Eligible companies benefit from highly customized plans to meet the most diverse training needs. Typically, CPCC administers state funds and provides services at no charge to manufacturers and other companies that create 12 or more new jobs in Mecklenburg County during a one-year period.

Eligibility

Current eligible business segments are listed below:

  • Manufacuturing
  • Technology intensive (ex. software production, internet services supporting areas outside North Carolina, bio-tech)
  • Regional or national warehousing or distribution centers
  • Regional or national customer service or data processing centers, or units of a central administrative office
  • Air courier services
